Ħamrun (Il-Ħamrun) is a densely populated town in the Northern Harbour District of Malta, on the main road approach from Valletta and Floriana toward the centre of the island. It is known for its long commercial high street, the parish of St Cajetan, and its 19th–20th-century industrial heritage.

History of Ħamrun
Ħamrun grew rapidly in the 19th and 20th centuries as Malta industrialised and population spread out from Valletta and Floriana. It became associated with workshops, small industry and the railway era, and developed a dense urban fabric along its main street. The parish church of St Cajetan anchors the town centre, and Ħamrun has a long sporting tradition.
