Where is Mġarr?

History of Mġarr
The Mġarr area has been settled since prehistory: the Skorba and Ta' Ħaġrat sites preserve some of the earliest village and temple remains on Malta and form part of the UNESCO Megalithic Temples of Malta listing. Mġarr later developed as a farming village, long associated with crops such as strawberries, and its domed parish church of the Assumption was built largely through local effort in the 20th century.
